Drawing on Moroccan mediation in the conflict in Mali and Omani mediation in the conflict in Yemen, the author demonstrates two best practice examples for successful conflict transformation. She examines the cases in a culturally-sensitive manner, derives success factors and develops guidelines that aim to inspire new approaches, current academic discourse and political practice in the face of the urgent need for sustainable solutions.
