Resistance against National Socialism was an exception, but monuments to resistance are not. A meticulous survey has yielded 1,115 objects at 293 locations in Germany and 55 abroad. This is the first volume to analyze this source genre, leading to a new understanding of the reception history of resistance in the Federal Republic of Germany.
