The volume combines historical, art-historical, and music-historical research approaches to Duke Albrecht V of Bavaria (reign 1550-1579) and deals with the complex cultural contexts in which this prince acted from a knowledge-historical perspective. He focuses on Albrecht V as a European actor and asks what knowledge his government relied on, how it organized and orchestrated it.
