The harmful sequelae of alcoholism in pregnancy in the unborn child are still largely unknown. The second edition presents Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) in detail with respect to clinical presentation, diagnosis, epidemiology, pathogenesis and psychopathology, prevention and therapy. It also discusses the social consequences of FAS and FASD and their impact upon the patients.
