F.A.W. Diesterweg (17901866) is a key figure in the 19 th century history of German pedagogy. This volume is comprised of all known letters and official documents from the period that he served as Director of the Public School Teacher's Training Program in Berlin until his resignation from that office (18321847). The official correspondence documents his campaign to modernize teacher training.
