Recent years have witnessed growing interest in anger as a literary and societal phenomenon. Delving into this topic, this work examines the ways that 12 th century authors functionalized rage for their narratives of power and rule. An innovative aspect of the work is its cross-genre examination of texts that can be seen as key conceptualizations of early statehood.
