This book focuses on the interactions between the realms of the dead and the living in Greek tragedy. It examines how the risks and rewards involved in transgressing these boundaries are shaped by and used to shape drama, and situates the presence and power of underworld gods and the dead in their cultural and religious context. It sheds light on death, (im)mortality, the afterlife, and their diverse associations in the ancient Greek imagination.
