The book focuses on the short prose works by the Jewish writer Ernst Weiss (18821940) by typologising this specific section of the novelist's production, defining its themes and in six interpretive sketches drawing out a type of narration which is classified as parabolic. The study explicates Weiss' position on the problem of existence and knowledge, defines the concept of the parabolic conception of narration and demonstrates the narrative features of this conception.
