Konrad von Würzburg's 'Trojan War' pioneered a new pathway for vernacular mythography at the end of the 13 th century. For the first time, this study systematically explores the poetic processes that effected this epistemic transformation in the narrative of myth. The author develops a model for analyzing the literary production of knowledge that is at once open to historicizing approaches and useful for general research about knowledge.
