Arno Schmidt is potentially the greatest outsider of German postwar literature. This handbook aims to provide access to his oeuvre, to arouse interest in his works, and to give Schmidt the place he deserves in literary history. It provides both information for a first encounter with Schmidt's texts and an overview of existing research for readers who are already familiar with his works.
