In addition to Gottsched's preoccupation with Schönaich's epic poem Hermann, oder das befreyte Deutschland, the letters from April to October 1751 document Gottsched's support of other literary activities, such as Curtius's translation of Aristotle's Poetics and publications by individuals associated with the Prussian court. The Zurich-Leipzig literary dispute is also expressed, and Rothfischer is represented for the first time with a letter.
