During the imperial events of the period 14991504, there was a tension between the imperial reform movement and conflicts like the Swabian War and the French conquest of Milan. The Augsburg Imperial Diet of 1500 with its edicts on the establishment of an Imperial Regency and an Imperial Chamber Court was at the center of a far-reaching web of events, which also included numerous Imperial Estate assemblies held in the years that followed.
