Volume III/2 of the "Codex diplomaticus Amiatinus" contains the indexes of names, place names and subjects figuring in the first two volumes of this edition (Volume I appeared in 1974, Volume II in 1982). The indexes have been compiled in close cooperation with historical linguists and attempt to present material encompassing a period of almost 500 years in a way that ensures the greatest possible gain for ongoing research on place names and persons' names. Volume III/1 will contain supplements to the edition and is planned for publication in late 1998.
