This volume commences the second part of Schleiermacher's translations of Plato, which henceforth turns to the theory of ideas in physics and ethics. The dialogues are presented with the texts of the translations of the 1st and 2nd edition including Schleiermacher's introductions and notes, the Greek original, and, most notably, substantial material from the manuscripts documenting Schleiermacher's preliminary work on the dialogues.
