Der Blick nach Osten Einladung zur Neubewertung der europäischen Konfessionsgeschichte

This volume fills a gap in research on religious history of Europe, namely the problem of confessionalism and confessionalisation in non-Western Christian traditions. The studies of this volume focus on the Orthodox Eastern and Southeastern cultures and hereby, enrich the research on European dynamics of Christian denominations after 13th century till now. With the main focus on the Orthodox traditions of the continent, the papers display new perspectives on mechanisms of religious and confessional identity within European Christianity.

PD Dr. Mihai-D. Grigore ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte in Mainz. Dr. Florian Kührer-Wielach ist Direktor des Instituts für deutsche Kultur und Geschichte Südosteuropas an der LMU München. Von 2009 bis 2012 war er Fellow des Initiativkollegs »Europäische historische Diktatur- und Transformationsforschung«.
