This book draws on an extensive map collection and language data from censuses to examine the ethnocultural homogenization in Turkey's nation-building process. In an analysis of province-based data on twenty-one native languages in the censuses of 19271965, the book discusses a policy of Turkification directed at different ethnic groups throughout the historical process.
