The studies in this volume address the history, standards, political factors, and social contexts that led Polish rulers to endow churches and monasteries, provide them with property, and entrust relics to them. In addition to documenting the latest research findings, the volume provides an overview of religious foundations in medieval Poland for the first time in the German language.
