The history of the Bauhaus has been told in many ways, often enough through the eyes of influential men. Only recently has research turned its attention to the women of the school. In this book, Marina Vinnik uses the theories of Object-Oriented Ontology (OOO) and Vibrant Materialism to open up another perspective on the Bauhaus: What roles do objects, assemblages, groupings of human and non-human elements (such as textiles or buildings) play in the Bauhaus? Marina Vinnik (born 1984 in Kemerovo, USSR) studied documentary filmmaking at the Russian State University of Cinematography in Moscow and intermedia art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig. She holds a doctorate in feminist art history. During a postdoctoral research project at the Bauhaus University Weimar, which resulted in this book, she interviewed philosophers and artists, including Jane Bennett, Graham Harman, Judith Raum, T'ai Smith, and Andrea Garcia Vasquez.
