The work introduces Einstein's special theory of relativity in understandable steps by gradually introducing objects and constructing coordinate systems, starting with empty space. Difficult trains of thought guide the reader safely to the measurements using a special notation. In this way, the author enables a real understanding of the Lorentz transformations and the famous formula E=mc 2 .
