At the end of 1930, John Maynard Keynes published his fifth book entitled A Treatise on Money , and at the beginning of 1936 he published the famous General Theory of Employment, Interest, and Money . These works shook the foundations of established neoclassical economics. Economists today are still arguing about Keynesian macroeconomics and the role of the government in combating crises. The articles in this volume discuss the complete works of this great thinker, taking into consideration the backdrop of current problems: What contributions do his concepts make to a better understanding of the functioning and the improved organization of modern societies?
