The three works included in this volume cover central themes in Rickert's philosophy: the reformulation of traditional concepts of terminology and definition; the relationship between logic and mathematics, where Rickert argued for a theory beyond empiricism and rationalism with reference to the illogical essence of the number; and the key concept of ontology: namely, being, in relation to which he proposes a theory that opposes Heidegger's.
