This volume presents the research history, sources, theoretical approaches, and the full range of economic history subject areas for the field of ancient history. The period stretches from ca. 1000 BCE to approx. 400 CE, with a spotlight on the "key period" of Greek-Roman antiquity, from about 700 BCE to 300 CE.
