This monograph develops an approach to the concept of subjectivity that places the question of historicity at its center. It critically analyzes and makes fruitful the philosophies of Schelling and Heidegger in connection with current debates in the philosophy of mind, paying special attention to the topics of naturalism, the perspective of the first person, and personal identity in time.
