The textbook covers the vibrations of continuums, describing the movements of continuous systems such as strings, membranes, beams, bars, plates, etc. Systems of this kind with endless degrees of freedom are describable by means of partial differential equations. In order to enliven and better communicate the material to be learned, the author makes use of CAS systems such as MATLAB and Maple.
