In print again: Christ & Gantenbein's typological investigation of 160 structures in Hong Kong, Rome, New York, and Buenos Aires

In Typology more than one hundred and fifty buildings are documented through floor plans, axonometric projections, recent color photographs, and halftones. The buildings, many of them relatively unknown, were chosen in order to provide a basis for looking at metropolitan design in the twentieth century, and they show the patterns and differences found in architecture from around the world. Included are essays that provide meaningful context for the buildings and examine how local governments and zoning practices guide architecture.

Emanuel Christ und Christoph Gantenbein führen seit 1998 ihr gemeinsames Architekturbüro in Basel. Nach Tätigkeiten als Dozenten am ETH Studio Basel (20002005), der Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio (2004, 2006, 2009), der Oslo School of Architecture and Design (2008), der ETH Zürich (20102015) und an der Harvard GSD (2015 2017) lehren sie seit 2018 auch zusammen als Professoren für Architektur und Entwurf an der ETH Zürich.
