Zion is a fundamental topos for the theology of the Psalms. Corinna Körting analyzes the so-called Zion psalms as well as the references to Zion in the Psalter. On the horizontal axis, it proves to be the center of a sacred topography, and it provides Israel and the world with a sense of direction and a home. On the vertical axis, it is able to erase the distance between the earthly and the heavenly presence of God.
