Christoph Seibert deals with his philosophy of religion and interprets it within the context of his psychology, radical empiricism and theory of truth. The central idea behind the interpretation is the development of James' thinking as a struggle for an adequate understanding of the concrete conditions and challenges of human actions. It is the author's theory that this is expressed very succinctly in the way he deals with the phenomenon of religion. In the course of his study, the author shows how inappropriate it is to classify James' philosophy as subjectivist, antimetaphysical or constructivist and describes clearly the inherent problems and the potential of his position in the modern discourse on the philosophy of religion.
