Dr. Kaspar von Greyerz ist Professor für Neuere Geschichte an der Universität Basel. Erasmus Desiderius von Rotterdam zählt zu den bedeutendsten Repräsentanten des philosophischen Humanismus. Als Philologe und Kirchenkritiker bestimmte er wesentlich die Grundlagen der protestantischen Bewegung mit. Martin Wallraff, ev. Theologe, ist seit 2005 Ordinarius für Kirchen- und Theologiegeschichte an der theologischen Fakultät der Universität Basel. Die Schwerpunkte seiner Arbeit sind die Religions- und Christentumsgeschichte der Spätantike sowie die Kirchengeschichte der Stadt Rom. Er ist Mitbegründer des Melanchthon Zentrums in Rom (evangelisches Studienzentrum für ökumenische Theologie).
