Simulation has gradually become the preferred method for designing complex systems. Testing any system in space was extremely expensive and very difficult. Most of designs nowadays by necessity, required simulations. Over time, this approach has become pervasive in many industries. Even in product developments, simulation has become the dominant method of design. A digital simulation of the environment that a system lives in is crucial in this modern simulation based design process. The accurate representation of this environment allows the designer to see how well the system he is designing performs. It allows the designer to verify that the design meets all of the performance specifications. This book will take you on generic steps of the ANSYS simulation commercial package, showing you how to develop a model and then how to execute the design steps to make the model into a functioning design laboratory. Along the way, you will be introduced to the technique in analyzing failures from simulation. The presented material in this book is not too theoretical and that you will find the tutorials work with are funs, instructive, and useful in the future.

Aidy Ali is a lecturer of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia(UPM). He received his degree in Mechanical Engg. from UPM, 1999, M.Eng degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Manufacturing System Engg 2002. PhD degree in 2005 from Sheffield University.UK. His expertise is related to Fatigue and Fracture of metallic materials
