This volume addresses the application of differential equations to flows, especially turbulent flows, and in boundary layer theory. An introduction addresses the theory, followed by detailed explanations and discussions of the various applications and examples. New: the book's methodological and didactic approach has been restructured for better understanding, with exercises and solutions integrated into the text.

Geboren in Basel, 1965, erhielt Adriano Oprandi 1992 von der Universität Basel das Diplom Mathematik, Physik und Philosophie. 1993 beendete er seine Ausbildung als Gymnasiallehrer am Pädagogischen Institut in Basel. Unmittelbar danach folgte seine Lehrtätigkeit in Mathematik und Physik. Seit 1998 ist er fest angestellt am Gymnasium Muttenz und unterrichtet Mathematik.
