Marion Edmonds and Ahza Moore have been knitting and teaching together for more than a decade. They are the authors of "When Bad Things Happen to Good Knitters" and partners in KnittingTogetherNYC and ABQ. They give private knitting lessons at many yarn stores, including Purl Soho, NYC and lead workshops in specific knitting techniques around the country, including "Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting," an exhibition at the American Craft Museum. They contributed patterns to the best-selling "Last-Minute Knitted Gifts" by Joelle Hoverson, and now develop original patterns for their own products and classes.
Call them knitting gurus, call them knitting fairy godmothers, authors Marion Edmonds and Ahza Moore are beloved by knitters all over the country. "When Bad Things Happen to Good Knitters "has sold close to 20,000 copies since 2007, and continues to sell at a clip of about 1,000 per year. It is no wonder, too: Marion and Ahza's great knitting instruction and witty text helps readers out of all sorts of knitting jams. Whether the dilemma is a dropped stitch (or a whole row full of stitches), a forgotten increase, several rows of the wrong pattern sequence, or a too-tight sweater neck, Marion and Ahza provide level-headed advice on what to fix, how to fix it, and when you can just fudge it. With 119 years of knitting experience between them, they've seen it all and fixed it all. Now, with this new, expanded and updated edition, they've got even more good advice, more tips, and more knitting solutions (particularly for color-knitting, which was missing from the first book) for beginners and more experienced knitters alike (the more experienced you are, the more elaborate the mistake!). Also, for the first time, there are six new knitting patterns, so readers can test drive their new-found knitting expertise. Bigger, bolder, and better than ever, the revised and expanded edition of "When Bad Things Happen to Good Knitters "is a book for every knitter's yarn bag.
