We need time before one who lives through an event fully grasps its historical import. Many young people who went through the ups downs of the war, of the occupation of France and its persecutions, have only very lately figured out the exceptional character of their lives. I have known Victor Sullaper for such a long time that I believed I was a familiar with all his past, with his action in the Resistance and, more particularly, in the saving of the Jews.
