Analysis and Design of Nonlinear Systems in the Frequency Domain

This book focuses on the development of three novel approaches to build up a framework for the frequency domain analysis and design of nonlinear systems. The concepts are derived from Volterra series representation of nonlinear systems which are described by nonlinear difference or differential equations. Occupying the middle ground between traditional linear approaches and more complex nonlinear system theories, the book will help readers to have a good start to analyse and exploit the nonlinearities.

Analysis and Design of Nonlinear Systems in the Frequency Domain provides clear illustrations and examples at the beginning and the end of each chapter, respectively, making it of interest to both academics and practicing engineers.

Auteur

Dr. Yunpeng Zhu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Automation in 2013 and 2015, respectively, from Northeastern University, China. In 2020, he received a PhD in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, which was fully supported by a scholarship of the Faculty of Engineering at Sheffield University. He is currently a Research Associate working on a £1.6 million UK EPSRC project led by Prof Z Q Lang, at the University of Sheffield and involving 3 other UK universities and 6 industry partners. In the 2017 IET PhD student poster competition, he was awarded the runner up prize. In 2019, he was awarded the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad. Only 500 PhD students were awarded the Award all over the word in that year. He was also the winner of the Best Student Paper Prize in 2019 1st International Conference on Industrial Artificial Intelligence.

From 2013 to 2020, he has published over 30 international journal papers and 10 conference papers, including some very top journals in the subject area of systems and control including Automatica and IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology. He has acted as a referee for over 10 high quality journals including Automatica, IEEE transactions on Automatic Control, IEEE transactions on Mechatronics, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, and Nonlinear Dynamics.
