Michael Burgan has been writing about America, immigration, religion, famous Americans, sports, and many other subjects for children and young adults for more than 20 years. His work has been published in The New York Times and Sports Illustrated for Kids. A former writer for Weekly Reader Corporation, he has developed online resources and produced educational materials to be used by teachers in the classroom. Burgan is also a playwright and currently lives in Chicago.
