MIA BLOOM is Associate Professor of International and Women's Studies at Penn State University. She is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and considered one of the world's leading authorities on suicide terrorism. She has held research and teaching appointments at Princeton, Cornell, Harvard, and McGill Universities. She has a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University, a Masters in Arab Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelors from McGill University in Russian and Middle East Studies and speaks nine languages. Bloom's first book Dying to Kill: The Allure of Suicide Terror (Columbia University Press, 2005) received a starred review in Publishers Weekly.
