Margaret grew up in the North East of Scotland and studied Sports Development and Health Promotion at University. She spent 9 Summers at Camp Blue Ridge which is a Summer Camp based in Northern Georgia in the USA as a Camp Counsellor, Unit Leader and Sports Director. She also spent 7 years in Eastern North Carolina working at YMCA Camp Sea Gull/Camp Seafarer as an Operations/Program Assistant which is where she and Jimmy the Dalmatian first met up until their return to Scotland in 2015 to help care for her terminally ill Mother which became the beginning of her journey as a Children's Author following Jimmy's actual life events.

Jimmy the lovable, kind, gentle, adventurous Dalmatian, who was born in the USA is back to share her next adventure as she prepares to move to Scotland to meet her Scottish family. After overcoming her fear of the vet to get a pet passport, it was now time for Jimmy and her Mummy to go to the airport and get ready to fly to Scotland. This meant Jimmy had to sleep in a dog-friendly hotel and prepare to leave her Mummy at the airport, because some dogs are not allowed to fly with their mummies. This was one of Jimmy's other least favourite things to do.... be away from her Mummy.
