James Mayhew is an award-winning author and illustrator of many children's books, including the popular Ella Bella Ballerina series. His special love for opera and ballet is reflected in many of his stories and illustrations. He lives with his wife and son in Letchworth Garden City, England.

After hearing the story of a magical toy shop filled with dancing dolls, Ella is magically transported there! Ella loves all of the dancing dolls, but she is especially taken with a pair of can-can dancing dolls that are in love. When two different families decide to each buy one of the dolls, the pair is distraught. Now Ella wonders--is there some way to keep them together forever?
