Description

To enhance crop production heavy tonnage of pesticides is being used around the globe. Endosulfan, is one such organochlorine pesticide that had been is usage from a long time. It possess severe health impacts and also cause damage to the central nervous system.Antioxidants such as resveratrol on the other hand, acts to counterbalance the toxic effects of pesticides. This study was designed to evaluate the ameliorative potential of resveratrol against endosulfan induced neurotoxicity. For this different nuclei and fibre tracts of various regions of the mice brain have been mapped using histochemical localization of the neurotransmitter enzyme ATPase.

The author is a PhD in the faculty of science and a gold medalist in M.Sc. (Zoology) from University College of Science, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. She has attended some conferences and has published many research papers.
