This volume of Modern Aspects of Electrochemistry has contributions from significant individuals in electrochemistry. This 7 chapter book discusses electrodeposition and the characterization of alloys and composite materials, the mechanistic aspects of lead electrodeposition, electrophoretic deposition of ceramic materials onto metal surfaces and the fundamentals of metal oxides for energy conversion and storage technologies. This volume also has a chapter devoted to the anodization of aluminum, electrochemical aspects of chemical and mechanical polishing, and surface treatments prior to metallization of semiconductors, ceramics, and polymers. Auteur

Dr. Stojan Djoki obtained his BSc degree in chemical engineering/analytical chemistry from University of Belgrade. He holds an MSc in electrochemical energy conversion and a PhD in electrochemistry/materials science from the University of Belgrade. At the University of Ottawa, as a Research Fellow, he has worked in the field of molten salts electrochemistry. Dr. Djoki has published more than 80 papers including seven chapters in Modern Aspects of Electrochemistry, and coauthored a book Fundamental Aspects of Electrometallurgy. In addition he has edited four volumes of Modern Aspects of Electrochemistry. He holds eight US patents. Dr. Djoki is an active member of the Electrochemical Society and he has successfully organized and chaired several international symposiums. He is as well registered Professional Engineer with the APEGA. Stojan's professional experience covers both industrial and academic environments within Europe and North America in the fields of electrochemistry, electrometallurgy, polymeric composite materials, biomaterials, materials science and analytical chemistry. Dr. Djoki has developed several processes and materials which are currently used in industry worldwide. His current interests include electroless and electrodeposition, kinetics, disinfectants, electronics materials and biomaterials used as infection resistant surfaces or in immunodiagnostics. Currently, Dr. Djoki is the Director of Elchem Consulting Ltd. and an Adjunct Professor of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta.
