Description

The book deals with the design and developmental aspects of an embedded based system for the measurement of dielectric constant in liquids and solids. A dielectric is a substance that can sustain an electric field and acts as an insulator. Some liquids and gases can serve as good dielectric materials, having a special property of storing and dissipating electrical energy when subjected to electromagnetic fields. Dry air is an excellent dielectric. The dielectric data are required on a large variety of materials under different physical conditions for many industrial, scientific and medical applications of microwave energy. The embedded based measurement system, designed and developed in the present book, is quite successful in measuring the dielectric constant of liquids and solids with reasonable accuracy and its application for investigation/measurement of chemical, fibers, glass, oil, ceramics and other fields is found to be very useful.
