This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Parallel and Distributed Processing and Applications, ISPA 2007, held in Niagara Falls, Canada, in August 2007. Ivan Stojmenovic, PhD, is a researcher in DISCA, IIMAS, UNAM, Mexico, and a professor in the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a managing editor of Multiple-Valued Logic and an editor of several journals. He has also published more than 150 academic papers.
