Beschreibung

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Cameraria macrocarpella is a moth of the Gracillariidae family. It is known from Québec and the United States (including New Jersey, Texas, Maine, Maryland, New York, Illinois and Vermont). The wingspan is 8.5-9 mm. The larvae feed on Castanea species and Quercus macrocarpa. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine has the form of a blotch mine on the upperside of the leaf. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described.
