This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 13th Italian Workshop on Neural Nets, WIRN VIETRI 2002, held in Vietri sul Mare, Italy in May/June 2002.The 21 revised full papers presented together with three invited papers were carefully reviewed and revised during two rounds of selection and improvement.
