Stan Potts is just an ordinary boy, but when all the jobs in Fish Quay disappear, his uncle develops an extraordinary fascination with canning fish. Oliver Jeffers, geb.1977, ist Designer, Illustrator und Maler. Zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Ausstellungen u.a. in New York, Dublin, London, Sydney und Belfast. Gewinner des renommierten Nestlé Children's Book Prize in Gold 2005 und des Blue Peter Book 2006. Jeffers lebt nach seinen Reisen um die Welt wieder in Belfast, Nordirland. David Almond kam über Umwege zum Schreiben. Er arbeitete als Briefträger, Lektor und Lehrer, bevor er sich 1993 ganz dem Schreiben zuwandte. 2010 wird ihm der Hans Christian Andersen Preis verliehen.
