The use of composite structures in construction is increasing. Theoptimized combination of the two materials concrete and steelproduces particularly cost-efficient structures.

Boris Androic was Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering,University of Zagreb, Croatia, from 1992 until 2009. He iscurrently the director of the IA Projektiranje StructuralEngineering Ltd.
Darko Dujmovic is Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering,University of Zagreb. He received his Doctoral Degree from theUniversity of Zagreb in 1996. Since 2005 he has been a CharteredStructural Engineer.
Ivan Lukacevic is a Research Assistant at the Faculty of CivilEngineering, University of Zagreb.
