Mermaid's Tear

Kidnapped by pirates and foced to work upon their ship, Princess Valyrie Killigrew must help the Pirate King Ryze find the mystical Mermaid's Tear in exchange for returning her home. During her epic journey, Valkyrie learns that she isn't the only one with an identity to hide.

I don't want to spoil any of the plot by revealing too much, but it's a pirate novel with actual literary themes on the subject of conformity. Conformity is the central subject of works like Catcher in the Rye, and is also the underlying struggle in most zombie stories, where characters struggle against doing what is right or doing what is easy.
