This volume, which is released in section II of Legal Contemporary History (Juristische Zeitgeschichte), records the contributions made to one of the events sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation. Francisco Muñoz Conde from the Pablo Olavide University in Seville and Thomas Vormbaum from the Open University Hagen are joint editors of the conference transcript. This work considers the transformation of dictatorships into democracies as well as coming to terms with the past.
